About Thomas Kuchenbecker
I started painting over 30 years ago as a hobby, an extension of my childhood interest in art which was my favorite subject in school. Painting is my method of expressing my love of the natural environment that has been entrusted to mankind. Recently I have also become interested in capturing the sights of Madison Wi and the Univesity of Wisconsin.
I aim to capture the eye with color and soothe the soul with an atmosphere of ethereal tranquility. I hope to achieve an overall effect of harmony and co-existence between nature and mankind with a subtle implication of the greater cosmos.
The purpose of my paintings is to induce a few moments of quiet relaxation and contemplation. I hope to instill an appreciation of nature and the need to protect the delicate balance between human needs and the fragile environment. I also hope to deliver a message of the importance of man's spirituality in life through a combination of poems and paintings.
